ACCRA, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Ghana's U-17 women's national football team, the Black Maidens, has been drawn in Group C alongside Canada, Brazil and Norway at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup later this year.
The Black Maidens secured qualification for the tournament on Saturday after edging Senegal 7-6 on penalties to claim one of Africa's four berths.
The draw for the 10th edition of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup took place at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, in May.
Twenty of the 24 qualified nations knew their groups ahead of the finals, while the remaining four spots were reserved for the African teams that emerged victorious from the third round of continental qualifying in July.
The 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup will take place in Morocco from October 17 to November 7. ■
