AMMAN, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone call on Saturday on regional de-escalation efforts and the implementation of a recently signed U.S.-Iran peace memorandum of understanding, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry said.

The two sides stressed that dialogue remains the only way to resolve the crisis, and warned that Israel's continued measures in the occupied Palestinian territories entrench occupation, violate the Palestinian right to freedom and statehood, and undermine peace prospects, the ministry said in a statement.

They stressed the need to implement the Gaza ceasefire agreement, it said.

On Syria, they reaffirmed support for the country's unity, security and reconstruction, while condemning Israeli attacks on Syria and its interference in Syrian internal affairs, it said.

They also reviewed ways to strengthen bilateral ties and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation across various fields, it added.
