BEIJING, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Last edition's semifinalists China and Japan have been drawn in Group B at the 2027 FIBA Women's Asia Cup.
The tournament's Division A matches will be held in Cebu City, the Philippines from July 11 to 18, 2027. The Philippines and Lebanon are also in Group B.
According to the schedule announced on Saturday, China will face the Philippines on the opening day, before taking on Lebanon and Japan.
China lost to Japan 90-81 in the semifinal of the 2025 FIBA Women's Asia Cup, and took bronze with a 101-66 victory over South Korea.
Group A teams include defending champion Australia, South Korea, New Zealand and Chinese Taipei.
Australia won its first Asia Cup in 2025 after defeating Japan 88-79 in the final. ■
