BEIJING, July 10 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Wang Huning on Friday stressed the need to implement the tasks and arrangements for modernizing the country's industrial system and strengthening the foundation of the real economy.

Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, made the remarks during a consultative symposium on the modernization of the industrial system in Beijing, which focused on research findings from the central committees of non-CPC political parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC).

Noting that modernizing the industrial system is a key strategic task for the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), Wang said efforts should focus on advancing the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, actively developing emerging industries, and making forward-looking plans for future industries.

It is necessary to deepen the integration of technological and industrial innovation, build a modern industrial system that is self-supporting and risk-controllable, secure and reliable, and highly competitive, and put forth forward-looking, targeted and practical policy advice, he said.

He called for efforts to contribute wisdom and strength to fostering a new development pattern, promoting high-quality development and advancing Chinese modernization.

During the symposium, leaders of the central committees of four non-CPC parties and the ACFIC presented their research findings and offered suggestions concerning initial innovation and institutional support, the low-altitude economy, advanced manufacturing and the future industries.

Li Ganjie, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, chaired the symposium.
