COLOMBO, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka has earned more than 1.5 billion U.S. dollars from tourism so far in 2026 as tourist arrivals passed 1.2 million, the country's Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ruwan Ranasinghe, said at a press conference in Colombo on Friday.
Ranasinghe said this showed that Sri Lanka's tourism sector continued to recover and expand.
He said the country remained on track to meet its target of attracting 2.5 million tourists in 2026.
Tourism is one of Sri Lanka's main sources of foreign exchange earnings. ■
