TUNIS, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Herve Renard has stepped down as manager of Tunisia after the team's group-stage elimination from the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The 57-year-old Frenchman had replaced Sabri Lamouchi after Tunisia lost to Sweden 5-1 in their group-stage opener on June 14.
"My adventure ends here," Renard said in a social media post on Saturday, thanking the Tunisian Football Federation for the opportunity to lead the team.
Under Renard's command, Tunisia lost 4-0 to Japan and 3-1 to the Netherlands, finishing last in Group F.
His previous coaching experience has included spells in charge of Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Cote d'Ivoire and Angola. ■
