TAIYUAN, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Germany beat Denmark 33-26 in the final to win the gold medal at the 2026 IHF Women's Junior Handball World Championship in Jinzhong, China, on Sunday.
France clinched the bronze medal with a 24-21 win over Spain, which finished fourth.
Germany, which last won this tournament in 2008, built a 15-14 lead in the first half before pulling away in the last ten minutes of the second half.
"It's our second time winning this trophy, and I'm so proud of my team and so overwhelmed," said Germany's Ruslana Litvinov. "Through the tournament, we know that if we don't lose in the first half, then the second half we always win because our mentality is stronger than others. Today we made it." ■
