BEIJING, July 4 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted Balleny Islands region at 2022 GMT on Friday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 62.15 degrees south latitude and 154.86 degrees east longitude. ■
