ALMATY, July 3 (Xinhua) -- A photo exhibition showcasing China's landmark modernization achievements was held earlier this week in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
Hosted at the Chinese Embassy, the selection of 30 pictures on topics ranging from technological innovation and green development to cultural heritage preservation showcased the remarkable progress made in China's socio-economic development in the new era. The exhibition, jointly organized by the Xinhua News Agency Dushanbe Bureau, was held Wednesday alongside an interparty symposium.
Among the visitors from Tajik political parties, Maliksho Ne'matzoda, first deputy chairman of the ruling People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan, said the exhibition demonstrated China's achievements at a time of accelerating technological advances, adding that Tajikistan is actively cooperating with China to learn from the latter's experience.
Addressing the interparty symposium, Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan Guo Zhijun said the Communist Party of China (CPC) has led the Chinese people to uncover a socialist path suited to the country's conditions, turning China from a poor, weak agricultural country into the world's second-largest economy, eliminating absolute poverty, and fundamentally changing the nation's destiny.
China's wealth of experience accumulated in advancing national rejuvenation not only benefits itself but can also help reform the global governance system, Guo added.
Fazliddin Ikromi, first deputy head of the Agrarian Party of Tajikistan, said that for his country, China is not only a good neighbor and a reliable strategic partner, but also a key investment, economic and trade partner.
He said he expects the CPC to lead the Chinese people to new successes. ■
