JAKARTA, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian state-owned energy company Pertamina and its downstream subholding, Pertamina Patra Niaga, have confirmed their readiness to distribute an initial 37.92 million liters of B50 biodiesel as the country begins implementing its mandatory B50 fuel blend policy, local media reported on Friday.
The mandatory policy officially came into effect on Wednesday. Nationwide distribution is set to expand following the program's official launch.
"We have prepared the infrastructure needed to distribute B50, from fuel terminals to retail outlets, including gas stations and agent-operated filling stations," Kitty Andhora, vice president of corporate communication at Pertamina Patra Niaga, told local media.
For the initial phase starting on Wednesday, the company said it is ready to distribute 37.92 million liters from 29 of Pertamina's 126 fuel terminals. This number will continue to increase gradually during the transition period, Kitty added. ■
