KATHMANDU, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Nepal received 91,363 foreign tourists in June, marking a 19.5 percent increase from the same month last year, according to a government report.
In its monthly report, the Nepal Tourism Board said on Thursday the surge was driven by a rise in the number of Indian tourists. Nepal welcomed 76,425 foreign tourists in June 2025.
The latest monthly total also exceeded the pre-pandemic level. In June 2019, before the COVID-19 outbreak disrupted global travel, 74,883 foreign tourists had visited Nepal.
India remained Nepal's largest source market during the month, with 41,809 visitors, followed by the United States of America with 11,836 and China with 9,995.
Nepal has witnessed a steady increase in the number of foreign tourists in recent months. ■
