HONG KONG, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong will host an array of celebratory events to mark the 105th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government said on Wednesday.
From July to August, the HKSAR government will organize a series of celebrations across all 18 districts of the city, incorporating activities with patriotic education, according to an official press release.
Special events focusing on aerospace and green transition will also be held during the period, showcasing national achievements and Hong Kong's contributions in these fields, the HKSAR government said.
In his speech at the launch ceremony for the celebratory events, Chief Executive of the HKSAR John Lee said that since returning to the motherland, Hong Kong has a strong national backing to sustain its long-term prosperity and stability, enjoying a promising future.
"Hong Kong has embarked on a new journey from disorder to stability and prosperity, and this is a good manifestation of the great vitality of 'one country, two systems,'" he said.
Also addressing the ceremony, Zhou Ji, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, expressed confidence in the city's future prospects.
"We strongly believe that Hong Kong will be able to, in the course of integrating into and serving the overall national development, achieve better development with better prosperity and stability," he said. ■
