MADRID, June 30 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona on Tuesday confirmed that forward Ansu Fati has been transferred to Monaco, with the Ligue 1 club making the deal permanent after Fati's loan last season.

The move ends Fati's 13-year relationship with Barcelona after he joined the club as a 10-year-old and for whom he made 123 appearances, scoring 29 goals.

FC Barcelona said it retains the right to a percentage of "any future sale."

Fati made his first-team debut at 16 years and 298 days, scoring his first goal just six days later in a 2-2 draw away to Osasuna, and hitting his first goal in the UEFA Champions League at 17 years and 40 days to set a new record for the youngest goalscorer in the competition.

But he suffered a serious knee injury in November 2020 that kept him out of action for nine months and was then hampered by several muscle injuries.

Fati scored 12 goals in 30 games for Monaco last season.
