BAGHDAD, July 1 (Xinhua) -- An electrical short circuit triggered a fire near Baghdad International Airport on Wednesday, which resulted in no casualties and has been brought under control, according to Iraqi sources.
The fire broke out far from the airport's operational facilities, causing no delays or changes to takeoff, landing, or flight schedules, the airport administration said in a statement.
An Iraqi Interior Ministry source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity that the fire occurred inside a residential building designated for pilots near the airport.
Initial reports indicated there were no casualties among passengers or workers, the source added. ■
