KUWAIT CITY, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait Armed Forces said on Sunday that they had intercepted two ballistic missiles after detecting them in the Gulf country's airspace, with no casualties or material damage reported.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army said the missiles were detected on Sunday morning and intercepted in accordance with established operational procedures.
The military said the incident caused neither casualties nor material damage.
The latest interception came amid heightened military tensions between the United States and Iran. On Saturday, the U.S. military said it had carried out new strikes against multiple Iranian military targets after what it described as continued Iranian attacks against commercial shipping near the Strait of Hormuz. ■
