KABUL, June 28 (Xinhua) -- A three-day exhibition promoting domestically produced goods opened in Pul-e-Khumri, capital of Afghanistan's northern Baghlan province, the official Bakhtar News Agency reported on Sunday.
The event features a wide array of Afghan-made products, including agricultural goods, handicrafts, food items, and locally manufactured products, aimed at boosting local businesses and encouraging consumption of domestic goods, the report quoted Qari Mohammad Naim Hamkar, the provincial director of commerce and industry, as saying.
Some 85 kiosks have been set up for the exhibition, said Hamkar, adding that the provincial administration is committed to supporting small enterprises and local producers as part of efforts to foster economic self-sufficiency.
The exhibition forms part of a broader Afghan government strategy to strengthen domestic industries, reduce reliance on imported goods, and highlight Afghan craftsmanship and entrepreneurship. ■
