MOSCOW, June 27 (Xinhua) -- A photo exhibition on China-Russia educational exchanges and cooperation was held at the Chinese Embassy in Russia on Friday.

More than 60 representative photographs were selected from pictures submitted by over 40 institutions for display, offering a comprehensive overview of the development and fruitful achievements of educational exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

Nearly 700 guests from the political, educational and media circles, along with youths from China and Russia, visited the exhibition.

Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui said the photos on display span different historical periods, featuring strong representativeness in the continuity and evolution of China-Russia educational exchanges and cooperation.

He said universities and colleges from both countries have demonstrated immense enthusiasm for such cooperation, as the exhibition perfectly captures and preserves wonderful moments in bilateral exchanges.

As the events marking the China-Russia Years of Education unfold, more stories will be displayed at future exhibitions, Zhang said.

Konstantin Mogilevsky, deputy minister of science and higher education of Russia, said the exhibit pays tribute to the pioneers who have long promoted bilateral educational cooperation and shows respect for the history of Russia-China educational cooperation.

Both sides should draw on historical experience to make greater progress in future cooperation, he said.

Jointly hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Russia and Xinhua News Agency, the photo show was held alongside a gala for the China-Russia Years of Education at the embassy in Moscow.
