MANILA, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Two girls and a boy drowned in a lake in Santa Rosa city in Laguna province, south of Manila, on Thursday evening, police said on Friday.
According to a police report, the children were playing in the rain before entering the lake and wading into a deeper portion of the water.
Their grandmother later noticed that the children were drowning and neighbors managed to pull the victims from the water. They were taken for treatment to a nearby hospital, where they were declared dead. ■
