COLOMBO, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Nearly 40 passengers were injured after two private buses collided head-on in southern Sri Lanka's Matara district on Friday morning, according to local police.
The collision involved one bus traveling from Galle to Ampara and another traveling from Tangalle to Matara, according to police.
The injured passengers were admitted to two regional hospitals for treatment, police said, adding that investigations were underway. ■
