KABUL, June 26 (Xinhua) -- A total of 344 Afghan people were released from Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan this week, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said on Friday.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, the migrants had been detained for varying periods for lacking legal documents. They returned to Afghanistan through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings.
Upon their arrival, the returnees received humanitarian assistance before being transferred to their respective home areas, the statement said.
The ministry added that Afghan authorities continue to facilitate the return and reintegration of Afghan citizens repatriated from neighboring countries. ■
