NEW DELHI, June 26 (Xinhua) -- The death toll in the warehouse collapse in the eastern Indian state of Kolkata on Friday rose to 15, officials said.
According to officials, rescuers at the spot retrieved two more bodies from the debris, while two injured workers succumbed during treatment, taking the overall death toll to 15.
The roof of an under-construction warehouse collapsed on Wednesday in Taratala area of Kolkata, the capital city of West Bengal.
Officials said teams from multiple agencies, including the Indian army, police and disaster management force, are engaged in intensive search operations at the site to trace possible survivors.
So far, 33 people have been rescued, while several others are still believed to be trapped under the debris. ■
