HANOI, June 26 (Xinhua) -- A 43-year-old woman was killed in a fire that broke out at a coffee shop in Vietnam's southern hub Ho Chi Minh City on Friday morning, local media VnExpress reported.
The blaze erupted at around 6:00 a.m. at the 50-square-meter shop in Phu Thanh ward, as nearby residents attempted to extinguish the fire before firefighters arrived, according to the report.
Firefighters later found the coffee shop owner dead from smoke inhalation in a bedroom, while the blaze damaged furniture, electrical appliances and other property inside the rented premises.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. ■
