MOSCOW, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Russia's Foreign Ministry said Thursday it had summoned Romania's ambassador to Moscow to formally notify Bucharest of retaliatory measures over the closure of the Russian Consulate General in Constanta.
"Romania's ambassador has been called to the Russian Foreign Ministry to be notified of Moscow's response to the closure of its consulate in Constanta," said Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the ministry.
Last month, Romanian authorities said a Russian drone crashed into the roof of a residential building in the Romanian city of Galati. In response, Romanian President Nicusor Dan announced the decision to close the Russian Consulate General in Constanta and declared the Russian consul general a persona non grata.
Moscow has denied all related accusations. ■
