MOSCOW, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Russia has decided to close the Romanian Consulate General in St. Petersburg and declare the Romanian consul general persona non grata, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
The Romanian ambassador to Russia was summoned to the ministry in the morning to receive the official diplomatic note.
The decision is a response to Romania closing the Russian Consulate General in Constanta and declaring the Russian consul general persona non grata, after what was alleged to be a Russian drone crashed into the roof of a residential building in the city of Galati, Romania.
Russia has denied all accusations and called them "completely unfounded." ■
