ULAN BATOR, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia's annual college entrance examination commenced nationwide on Thursday.
According to the Ministry of Education, a total of 49,014 students are expected to sit for the four-day examination at 55 testing centers across the country, which has a population of 3.5 million.
Examinees may choose from 10 subjects: history, English, chemistry, geography, sociology, biology, mathematics, physics, Russian language, and Mongolian language. Candidates are required to take at least two subjects.
Medical personnel, psychologists, and police officers have been deployed at all examination centers to provide health and psychological support and to maintain order throughout the examination period, the ministry said.
Mongolia currently has 46 universities, including 18 state-owned institutions, according to the ministry. ■
