GAZA/JERUSALEM, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Dozens of Palestinians protested in Gaza City on Tuesday against Israeli ceasefire violations as the death toll from Israeli attacks exceeded 1,000 since a ceasefire agreement went into effect in October last year.

Participants in the protest raised Palestinian flags and banners written in Arabic demanding that mediators uphold the agreement and end Israeli violations.

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said that the protest came as the death toll had surpassed 1,000 since the ceasefire agreement took effect.

He accused Israel of committing "systematic violations" of the agreement, including restricting the entry of humanitarian aid, constantly moving the so-called "Yellow Line" westward, and closing crossings.

Meanwhile, two Palestinians were reportedly killed in two separate Israeli airstrikes in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. Local sources and eyewitnesses also said Israeli drones targeted a motorcycle and a tent sheltering displaced people in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis.

Gaza-based health authorities said hospitals in the Gaza Strip received four dead and 20 wounded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on Oct. 10, 2025, to 1,027, with 3,280 wounded.

In their daily report, the authorities said that the total number of fatalities since Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 73,039, with 173,388 wounded.

In the West Bank, Israel said its forces arrested 19 Palestinians, including suspected arms dealers, in a large-scale overnight operation in the city of Bethlehem.

According to a joint statement by the Israeli police, military and domestic security agency Shin Bet, the forces searched dozens of locations, seized an M-16 rifle, ammunition and weapon parts, and detained the suspects. In a separate operation in the city of Tulkarm, two individuals were arrested, and two pistols confiscated.

Meanwhile, Palestine's official news agency WAFA said that Israeli forces detained 25 Palestinians on Tuesday and conducted field interrogations in the al-Fawwar refugee camp, south of Hebron.
