VIENTIANE, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Officials from Laos and Cambodia met in Vientiane on Monday to strengthen cooperation in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, with a focus on boosting investment, agricultural trade, and private-sector collaboration, according to local media.
Both sides noted that closer cooperation is expected to improve supply chain efficiency, attract investment, and create mutual economic benefits.
The move supports the implementation of the 2023-2027 Memorandum of Understanding on Agricultural Cooperation between Laos and Cambodia, which covers key areas such as agricultural cooperatives, commercial rice production, agricultural trade, fisheries development, forest conservation, and the protection of endangered aquatic species, including the Mekong giant catfish. ■
