HANOI, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's southern economic hub Ho Chi Minh City aims for its service sector to grow by 12 to 14 percent annually and contribute 60 to 65 percent to its Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) by 2030, local media outlet VnEconomy reported on Tuesday.
The target is outlined in a plan to implement a project aimed at transforming the city into a major service hub for both Vietnam and the region, with high-end, modern and high-value-added service industries.
According to the plan, the service sector will remain the city's primary growth driver, playing a leading role in restructuring the economy toward a more modern, efficient and sustainable model.
Centered on the planned international financial center, the city will develop a modern service ecosystem and strive to become a leading service hub in Southeast Asia, the report said. ■
