BAGHDAD, June 22 (Xinhua) -- The Iraqi Interior Ministry said Monday that the country has dismantled 48 local and international human trafficking networks and arrested 1,012 suspects so far in 2026.
Mohammed Ali al-Hasuon, spokesman for the ministry, told the official Iraqi News Agency that the ministry has registered 1,344 human trafficking cases during the current year.
Intelligence and investigative efforts by the ministry rescued 94 victims before the trafficking crimes could be committed, al-Hasuon added. ■
