ISTANBUL, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Turkish security forces have detained 209 suspects over alleged links to the Islamic State (IS) in a nationwide anti-terror operation, Türkiye Today reported Tuesday, citing Turkish authorities.
The coordinated raids spanned 46 provinces, with legal proceedings opened against 241 individuals. Efforts to locate the remaining suspects are ongoing, the report said.
Security forces also seized numerous organizational documents and digital materials during the raids, it added, without specifying the timeframe of the operation.
Ankara officially designated IS as a terrorist organization in 2013, and has carried out numerous counter-terrorism operations both at home and abroad. ■
