BEIJING, June 23 (Xinhua) -- At the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will pay an official visit to China from Wednesday to Friday.
Born in November 1965, Rahman is the chairman of the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). He joined the BNP in 1988 and was nominated as the party's acting chairman in 2018. He was appointed as party chairman in January before being sworn in as Bangladeshi Prime Minister on Feb. 17.
He is friendly towards China and accompanied his mother, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, on a visit to China.
He is married and has one daughter. ■
