BEIJING, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing on Tuesday called for unswervingly deepening the reform of state-owned capital and state-owned enterprises (SOEs), making them stronger, better and bigger, and continuously enhancing their core functions and competitiveness, so as to better leverage the leading role of the state-owned economy.
Zhang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks at a national video conference on further deepening the reform of state-owned capital and SOEs held in Beijing.
He stressed promoting deep integration of sci-tech innovation and industrial innovation and accelerating the transformation of sci-tech achievements into real productive forces, in order to better serve the goal of achieving high-level self-reliance and self-strength in science and technology.
Zhang urged efforts to make differentiated adjustments to the industrial structure, continuously optimize the layout of the state-owned economy, accurately keep track of the added value of the state-owned economy, and guide SOEs toward high-quality development. ■
