KABUL, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's Ministry of Higher Education has launched construction work on five higher education infrastructure projects in several provinces, the official media Bakhtar News Agency reported on Monday.
Valued at 90 million afghanis (over 1.4 million U.S. dollars), the projects are aimed at improving educational infrastructure and student services across the country, the report said.
Upon completion, the projects are expected to provide suitable accommodation and learning facilities for more than 5,000 university students and graduates, contributing to the development of higher education in Afghanistan, the report added.
The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the education sector and enhance learning conditions in the province. ■
