RAMALLAH, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Two Palestinian teenagers were killed by Israeli fire in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron in the West Bank, Palestinian sources reported Monday.
Palestinian security sources said a 15-year-old boy and a 19-year-old young man were killed by Israeli army fire near the settlement of Karmei Tzur, built on Palestinian land in Beit Ummar.
In another incident, two young men were wounded by Israeli army gunfire in the same town and were taken to a hospital in the city for treatment.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian woman was injured after being assaulted by Israeli army forces during a raid on the village of Kafr Qalil, south of Nablus.
The Palestinian Liberation Organization's Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reported that Israeli authorities also demolished two inhabited houses in the Umm Rukba area, south of the town of al-Khader in Bethlehem.
These developments come amid an escalation of Israeli aggression in cities, camps, and villages across the West Bank and East Jerusalem since October 7, 2023, which has resulted in the deaths of more than 1,000 people, according to official Palestinian figures. ■
