LOS ANGELES, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Manchester City Winger Jeremy Doku has been ruled out of Belgium's World Cup Group G match against Iran in Los Angeles on Sunday, the Belgian team announced on Saturday.
"Due to illness, Doku will not be part of the squad for our upcoming game against Iran," Belgium posted on social media.
Doku, 24, could also miss the knockout stage should Belgium advance, as his wife is due to give birth to their first child in the second week of July.
In Belgium's first Group G match against Egypt, which ended 1-1, Doku started and was replaced in the 86th minute. ■
