BAGHDAD, June 20 (Xinhua) -- An unidentified drone crashed Saturday near the residence of Iraqi Parliament Speaker Haibet al-Halbousi in western Iraq, with no casualties or material damage reported, according to security sources.
Colonel Yassin al-Dulaimi from the Anbar Police Command told Xinhua that the drone came down approximately 150 meters from al-Halbousi's residence in the Karma district in the western Anbar province.
The crash triggered a fire in nearby reeds and marshland, which was later extinguished by civil defense teams.
Security forces recovered debris from the crash site for technical examination to determine the drone's type and origin, as authorities seek to identify those responsible, police sources said.
Neither the parliament speaker nor the government has commented on the incident, and no group has claimed responsibility so far. ■
