ULAN BATOR, June 21 (Xinhua) -- The annual multinational peacekeeping exercise, codenamed Khaan Quest 2026, officially commenced at the Five Hills Training Area near Mongolia's capital, Ulan Bator, on Saturday.
According to the Mongolian Armed Forces (MAF), more than 1,100 military personnel from 18 countries, including India, South Korea, Germany, and the United States, are taking part in the exercise.
"The exercise holds an important place in Mongolia's peace-oriented foreign policy," the MAF said, noting that the exercise serves to strengthen international cooperation and improve the operational capabilities of the MAF and peacekeepers from participating countries.
The 23rd edition of the exercise will run until July 3 and consists of both a command-post exercise and a field training exercise. ■
