GAZA, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Five people, including two girls, were killed in two Israeli airstrikes on an apartment and a group of Palestinians in central and northern Gaza City on Saturday, said Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza.
The Israeli military has not yet commented on the airstrikes.
The Hamas-run media office in Gaza said Saturday that 1,012 people have been killed and 3,208 others injured in Gaza so far since a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas began in October 2025.
It said the Israeli army has only allowed 54,023 out of 150,600 aid trucks to enter Gaza, and 7,417 out of 20,600 people to cross the enclave.
Also on Saturday, high school exams began in Gaza online, with 37,698 students participating, said the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
Simultaneously, 51,499 students in the West Bank and 1,941 Gaza students currently abroad are taking their exams through the usual in-person format, it said.
Jamal Yousef, deputy director general of examinations at the ministry, said the exams have been arranged electronically in Gaza as 90 percent of the buildings and schools there were destroyed during the war. ■
