JAKARTA, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia and Kuwait agreed on Friday to strengthen cooperation on energy security as both countries seek to navigate geopolitical and global economic uncertainty.
The commitment was made during talks in Jakarta between Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Kuwait's ambassador, Khalid Jassim Alyassin.
Airlangga said in a statement that the two countries would continue working together to bolster energy security, building on existing cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
The two sides also expressed support for concluding free trade negotiations between Indonesia and the Gulf Cooperation Council by the end of 2026. ■
