WASHINGTON, June 18 (Xinhua) -- U.S. forces on Thursday struck an alleged drug-trafficking boat in the eastern Pacific, killing three people aboard, the U.S. Southern Command said on X.

The vessel was operated by designated terrorist organizations and was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the eastern Pacific, the command said in a post.

"Three male narco-terrorists were killed during this action. No U.S. military forces were harmed," said the command.

Since last September, the U.S. military has sunk dozens of alleged drug boats in the Caribbean and the eastern Pacific, claiming at least 211 lives.
