TEHRAN, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Monday briefed Lebanese officials on the details of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States.

In separate phone calls with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Araghchi explained about the MoU's provisions, especially those pertaining to Lebanon, according to a statement released by the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

He highlighted Iran's efforts and determination to end the war and "aggression" against Lebanon, stressing the U.S. responsibility for the proper implementation of the MoU's provisions.

Araghchi also underlined the need for the complete cessation of Israeli attacks against Lebanon.

The Lebanese president and parliament speaker welcomed the MoU's provisions, emphasizing that Lebanon's stability and security are inseparable parts of any serious effort to ensure stability in the region.

The United States, Pakistan and Iran early Monday announced the finalization of the MoU on ending the war following weeks of negotiations, adding that it will be officially signed in Switzerland on Friday.

On Feb. 28, Israel and the United States launched joint attacks on Tehran and other Iranian cities. Iran responded with waves of missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and U.S. bases and assets in the region.
