RAMALLAH, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas reaffirmed on Monday that parliamentary elections are scheduled for November, to be followed by presidential elections next year, the Palestinian official news agency WAFA reported.
Abbas made the remarks in a phone call with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Monday, during which the two leaders discussed the latest developments in Palestine, according to WAFA.
"Abbas affirmed his commitment to moving forward with the comprehensive national reform program and strengthening the democratic process," WAFA reported.
On Sunday, WAFA reported that Abbas has announced that presidential elections would be held in 2027. ■
