YAOUNDE, June 16 (Xinhua) -- The 10th edition of Yaounde International Business, SME and Partnership Exhibition officially opened on Monday, aiming to boost investment and promote locally made products.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Cameroon's Minister of Trade Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana said the fair is expected to enhance regional trade cooperation among small and medium enterprises and business service providers, helping exhibitors reach buyers, sourcing professionals and channel providers across Central Africa and broader Africa.

Held biennially, the trade fair attracts around 1,000 local and international exhibitors per edition, Mbarga Atangana said.

The fair has grown into "the largest business and economic gathering in Cameroon and Central Africa," said the minister. "Through this fair, we hope to improve our business environment."

Running through June 21, this year's event brings together enterprises from sectors including agribusiness, energy, manufacturing, information technology, finance, healthcare, tourism and handicrafts. The fair features forums, seminars, exhibitions and business-matching sessions.
