ALMATY, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan's economy expanded by 3.7 percent year on year in the first five months of 2026, the government's press service said on Monday.
The manufacturing sector grew 9 percent, with machinery production surging 22.2 percent, it said, citing data from the Ministry of National Economy.
Output in the chemical industry jumped 17.8 percent, while production of building materials soared 18.7 percent.
Agriculture posted a physical volume index of 103.6 percent.
The government projected an economic growth of over 5 percent for this year. ■
