MOSCOW/KIEV, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and three others, including a one-year-old child, were injured in an overnight drone attack on a residential area in the Tula urban district south of Moscow, Tula region Governor Dmitry Milyaev said early Monday.

"The victims are receiving the necessary medical assistance," Milyaev said in a social media post. Several private homes and commercial properties in the villages of Yamny, Maslovo, Mikhalkovo and Inshinsky sustained varying degrees of damage, he added.

Emergency services, regional government personnel, and city administration officials are working at the scene, he said.

On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukrainian forces struck several "important" facilities in Russia.

Among the targets were an oil facility in the Yaroslavl region in central Russia, which is important for Russia's oil reserves, and the Azot chemical plant in the Tula region, a key explosives production facility in Russia, Zelensky wrote on X.

Russia's Defense Ministry said Sunday that the country's air defense forces had shot down 483 Ukrainian drones and 14 guided aerial bombs over the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, most of Ukraine's territory was under air raid warnings in the early hours of Monday as both countries continued to exchange strikes.

Five Ukrainian rescue workers were killed in the northeastern city of Kharkiv and four others died in the capital Kiev following Russia's large-scale assault on Ukraine, Ukrainian authorities said Monday.
