KABUL, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Two commuters were killed and 29 others sustained injuries as a passenger bus collided with a truck in eastern Afghanistan's Ghazni province on Saturday night, Provincial Police Spokesman Khalid Sarhadi said Sunday.
The deadly mishap took place due to reckless driving on a road late last night, leaving two dead at the scene and injuring 29 others, some in critical condition, the official said.
Earlier, similar road accidents left five dead in the northern Kunduz province on Friday, while three others were killed in Baghlan province on Thursday.
Dilapidated highways, reckless driving, overlooking traffic rules, overspeeding and the use of old-fashioned vehicles often lead to deadly road mishaps in Afghanistan. ■
