NEW JERSEY, United States, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Morocco midfielder Ismael Saibari said his team paid the price for missed chances in its 1-1 draw with Brazil in World Cup Group C on Saturday.

Saibari gave Morocco the lead in the 21st minute after latching onto a pass from Brahim Diaz, before Brazil forward Vinicius Jr leveled 11 minutes later.

"We played well, created many chances, and there are quite a few things to improve," Saibari told reporters after the match at New York New Jersey Stadium.

"We deserved to win, but that's how it is when you don't score. If you miss chances against a top team, you pay dearly."

The PSV Eindhoven player said Morocco had already begun focusing on its remaining group-stage games against Scotland and Haiti.

"We played a good match. It was against a good opponent, and it ended 1-1. Now we've turned the page and are thinking about the next match," he said.

The 25-year-old noted there would be no easy fixtures in the tournament.

"All the teams here are good teams. They're not here by chance," he said, adding that Morocco would need "maximum" preparation for the rest of the tournament.
