DHAKA, June 13 (Xinhua) -- A total of 671 people were killed and 1,696 others injured in road, rail and waterway accidents in Bangladesh in May, a report published on Saturday said.
According to Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity, a passenger welfare association, 622 people were killed, and 1,652 were injured in 613 road accidents throughout the month in the country.
It said 34 people were killed and 29 were injured in 42 railway-related accidents in May, while 15 died and 15 were injured in 21 waterway accidents in the month. ■
