JERUSALEM, June 12 (Xinhua) -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Friday that it apprehended over 50 Palestinians in "counterterrorism" operations conducted in the West Bank in the past week.
The arrested were believed to be involved in inciting and promoting "terrorist activities," and possessing and trafficking weapons, the IDF said in a statement.
Israeli forces also seized around 250,000 shekels (about 85,000 U.S. dollars), allegedly used to finance "terror acts."
In the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army said it killed more than 20 militants in the week, including three senior Islamic Jihad members, and the head of a Hamas funds transfer group and his deputy. ■
