KUWAIT CITY, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait's armed forces intercepted 24 hostile drones that entered the country's airspace over the past 48 hours, the Ministry of Defense said on Thursday.

In a press statement, Kuwaiti military spokesperson Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan said the incidents resulted in limited property damage without any casualties.

He also reaffirmed the armed forces' readiness to safeguard national security and protect citizens.

Earlier on Thursday, Kuwait condemned what it described as a renewed Iranian attack on its territory, calling it a violation of its sovereignty and a threat to regional stability.

The condemnation came after Kuwait temporarily closed its airspace and diverted flights as the Kuwaiti Army said air defense systems were intercepting hostile aerial targets.

Air traffic later resumed after authorities announced the reopening of the country's airspace.
